SVM Blog – Busy, Busy, BusyNovember 10th, 2011
So, another busy couple of weeks in Some Velvet Morning Land. First off, be sure to look out for us over the next month or so in Rhythm Magazine, Music Week, The Independent and Q Magazine. As well as our tour, we’ve also got a very exciting one-off event lined up for the end of October at a famous London night spot – more details soon.
This week has also seen us in the studio working on new track Allies, which is starting to really come together, as well as recording our Bee Gees cover. Video for the latter will be posted next week.
As ever, thanks to those who made it down to our recent London shows. The Buffalo Bar was particularly enjoyable, and we hope you enjoyed hearing the Don’t Think remixes after our performance on a good sound system. We’re hopeful they’ll be hitting the indie clubs over the next few weeks. Speaking of which, a special mention to our remixer, Japan Aircraft – his take on both Don’t Think and How To Start A Revolution really are magnificent.
On a similar note, the test vinyl pressings for Don’t Think have been approved and are sounding great. Vinyl really does sound better. Full stop. Remember too that the b-side, Beautiful Dress, is only available on the 7", so get your orders in. The finished product should be with us any time soon now which, needless to say, is very exciting…
Finally, a brief mention about some good news that we received just today… Let’s just say look out for us on some big stages in the new year… 🙂
